FLAT-EARTHER’S “EXPERIMENT” GOES VIRAL FOR ALL THE HILARIOUSLY RIGHT REASONS
Everyone who creates a YouTube channel has one goal in mind: to become a viral sensation. Well, one flat-Earth conspiracy theorist has accomplished that goal- just not exactly how he would’ve liked to.
D. Marble boarded a flight going from North Carolina to Washington state in order to “monitor whether or not the pilot would dip the nose of the plane to compensate for curvature.”
He and some of his followers believe this most recent video confirms that “fact” that the Earth is flat.
“I recorded a 23 minute and 45 seconds time-lapse, which by those measurements means the plane traveled a little over 203 miles,” he explained in his video. “According to curvature math given to explain the globe model, this should have resulted in the compensation of 5 miles of curvature. As you’ll see there was no measurable compensation for curvature.”
“Understand that gravity is a still just a theory,” he goes on to say. “No more defending what we know to be true! Now we take the fight to the enemy! #FEOffensive.”
And yes, of course the video was shared by several other globe deniers around the globe. (Get it?) Two of the groups who helped to make D.Marble go viral include Flat Earth Activism, and God’s Flat Earth.
Those who chose to comment on the video have fully embraced it as factual evidence that the Earth is flat, and billions of people are colluding in a conspiracy to hide the truth.
However, if we turn to twitter, the response was not as accepting. In fact, more than a few people were happy to point out the flaws in Mr. Marble’s logic.
Now, obviously there are bound to be some of you who believe in this sort of thing, and that’s fine. But if you want to know a few facts that prove the Earth is actually round, check out IFLS’s post about it.
As promised, here is the recently made viral video by D.Marble:
